Role summary
OryxenLabs is hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer to work side by side with client teams and put our AI agents and automations to work inside their businesses. You will scope, build and deploy each solution from the first discovery call to a live system the client relies on, and report to the founder at first, and to the Tech Lead once that role is filled.
OryxenLabs is a Pakistan-based venture studio building AI-native SaaS products and automation services. We work across four pillars: AI & Automation, Web Development, Branding and Consulting. You will deploy our AI agents (such as our WhatsApp commerce agent) and custom n8n automations for SMEs in Pakistan and the GCC, connecting them to the systems clients already use. The role is part engineer, part consultant.

Key responsibilities
Discovery and scoping
- Join discovery calls with the BD / Sales Executive and map how the client's process really works today, including the workarounds.
- Turn what you learn into a short, written scope: what we will build, what we will not, the data and access we need, and how we will know it works.
- Say early when a request does not fit our products, and suggest a simpler first step.
Build and deploy
- Configure and extend our WhatsApp commerce agent for each client: catalogue, order flow, human handoff and tone.
- Build n8n workflows that connect our products to client systems such as CRMs, spreadsheets, accounting and inventory tools, email and WhatsApp.
- Write the integration code that n8n cannot handle on its own, in Python or TypeScript, with error handling and retries.
- Deploy to our Docker-based servers, and keep facts such as prices, stock and customer data in code and the database, not in the model.
Client partnership
- Run go-live and train client staff to use and trust the system.
- Explain technical trade-offs to non-technical owners in plain English or Urdu, and in writing.
- When something breaks at a client, own the response: fix it, tell the client what happened and stop it happening again.
Feedback into the product
- Report what clients keep asking for, so repeated custom work becomes a product feature.
- Write short notes on each deployment so anyone on the team can support it.
Requirements
Must have
- 2+ years building production software, with code shipped in Python or TypeScript.
- Integrated REST APIs and webhooks with real business systems, including error handling and retries.
- Hands-on experience calling LLM APIs and getting reliable structured output.
- Worked directly with clients or business users to turn a loose request into a working solution.
- Explains technical trade-offs to non-technical people in plain terms.
- Strong written and spoken English, and Urdu for local clients.
Nice to have
- Built workflows in n8n or a similar automation tool.
- Experience with the WhatsApp Business API or other messaging channels.
- Experience as a solutions, implementation or consulting engineer at a software house or agency.
- Arabic, or experience working with clients in the UAE or KSA.
- Daily use of AI tools for building and coding, such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, OpenAI, OpenRouter, Hugging Face, TypeSafe AI's Jev and locally run models.
What success looks like
Targets will be agreed in your first month.
